A weekend guide to Shiraz, Iran

Vakil Mosque, Shiraz

I went to Shiraz as a teenager with my family but even then, the city’s chill vibes got to me. Back then, we didn’t explore all the gems of the city so I was excited to go back, this time with a camera and my friend Caroline! And so, we spent a long weekend exploring Shiraz’s tiled mosques, wandering through beautiful scenery, and eating delicious food. Shiraz has recently been gaining popularity on social media, so the city ranked very high on our list. It’s an absolute must-do in any Iran itinerary, and can easily be explored in 3 days. Although I’d recommend 4, so you can also add in a day trip to Persepolis and ancient Persian sites. Keep reading for my Shiraz travel guide, which covers some of the best activities that Shiraz has to offer…

Tbilisi: a weekend guide to the capital of Georgia

At the beginning of July, I spent a weekend in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. I was invited by Tbilisi City Hall to discover the charms of the city! If you are looking for a low key destination, this country should be on your list! Georgia has a lot to offer, in terms of hikes, nature, culture and food!

Here I’m listing all the best things to do in the capital, Tbilisi!

ABANOTUBANI DISTRICT

Abanotubani is the ancient district of Tbilisi, known for its sulphuric baths. I didn’t have time to go to one, but I was in awe in front of the architecture! My favorite one was Orbeliani Baths. It actually looks like a Persian mosque thanks to its shape and its tile!

Today I’m listing all the must-dos for a first timer in the Eternal City!

Trevi Fountain

Toss a coin into the fountain but make sure you do it the right way!

Trevi Fountain

The Trevi Fountain, the largest fountain in Rome, is probably most well-known for the unique superstition and traditions surrounding it. Supposedly, if you toss a coin with your right hand over your left shoulder, you’ll be destined to return to Rome someday. If you want to take it a step further, you can throw three coins over your shoulder. The first one ensures your inevitable return to Rome. The second one promises you’ll find love. And the third one, that your love will lead to marriage.
